One With The Stars

Behold the beautiful night sky… if you don’t live in New York City that is, where stars are blocked out by the light of the city.  A speck of light here, a speck there, one brighter than the other and the occasional “I-thought-it-was-a-star-until-it-started-moving” satellite.  Stargazing is quite the treat to one with an appreciative eye.  But to another, perhaps they seem repetitive and dull to acknowledge; assuming nothing special of stars.  I believe it is the majesty of knowing that God breathed each of these immense wonders into existence that makes them so special to me.  Knowing God and knowing science allows me to revere this creation, for science will show you that all stars are different.  Different sizes, colors, brightnesses, intensities and distances.  Every star has its territory, where it holds dominion and serves its own purpose.  But even before my 2012 encounter with the Lord, there was something about the stars that awestruck me.
In 2010, I lived in Rochester, NY, where I had a girlfriend and we would take long drives, aimlessly into the countryside.  We would find open fields away from people and the troubles of the world and find serenity in looking at the stars.  We had many in-depth conversations on these outings, but also long silences where we would just appreciate the beauty and uniqueness in those things that was laid out before us.  After an hour or so, it would feel as if the chains of the world that shackled us were pulling us back to our fractured lives.  Although these nights grew long and well into the night, we'd drive back home reluctantly.
In this great, big world, we may get the feeling that there is nothing special about us.  No different from the next man/woman, we try to find something that makes us different, but of course we end up looking like a replica of somebody else.  Everybody tries to find their unique identity in this world, but the truth is the world can only develop replicas.  Businessmen enter their careers idealistically with endeavors to make a difference and help people, but time and stress would cause their wears and tears in one's heart.  Music artists, who believe to have a clear perception of who they are, enter the industry to bring something new and fresh to the masses; only to wind up delivering pretty much the same message as the last artist.  Men enter fatherhood with aspirations to do better by their children than their fathers did onto them, but tend to make the same mistakes.  Truthfully, people that remain birthed of this world that repeats its orbit around the sun, do just that– repeat.  As King Solomon, whom God had given unmatched wisdom on earth, once wrote:

“What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which one can say, “Look! This is something new”? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time.”
                                                                                         –   Ecclesiastes 1:9 (NIV)
Anything that comes of this world is just a copy– a copy of something that’s already surfaced in the world.  It is a disheartening thought, indeed, but one who accepts their calling from the Kingdom of Heaven is one that experiences true uniqueness and individuality.  Destined to experience The Lord’s glory and see our lives prospered, despite the hailstorms of the world that come to our doorstep, we were made to be founded on the unshakeable cornerstone that is our Lord, Christ Jesus.  YOU ARE UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT FROM ANYONE ON THIS EARTH! Know that and know that it is Yahweh, the God of Israel, who has formed you for a specific and fulfilling purpose.  King David wrote onto God:

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."
                                                                         –  Psalms 139:13-16 (NIV)

Embrace the fact that you are different and unmatched by any around the world.  Also, do not be discouraged when you see someone that you feel has a gift or calling that seems to be better than your own.  That is a lie from the enemy, Satan, to hinder your walk and perseverance.  We all have a place in the body of Christ with special purposes.  In 1 Corinthians 12, the apostle Paul discusses the 9 gifts of the spirit and how we all serve as different parts, but of one body.  For your encouragement, I show you this, concerning the body of Christ and its parts:

"The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty."
–  1 Corinthians 12:21-23 (NIV)

So I encourage you, my brothers and sisters, don't let the earth bound things block your light. Get up, grab hold of your calling, trust God and be one with the stars. God bless you.

With Love and Blessings,

Cease The Messenger
